For community service, I have also visited some orphanages. One of them is the Rumah Kehidupan orphanage. It is an orphanage consisting of infants and toddlers located in Mulyosari. Me along with some of my friends, Rena, Isaac, Michelly, Vinsen, Gerry, and Peter of grade 9 visited the orphanage in November 2010. The orphanage itself is a small house consisting of around 10 children. Some of them are still babies, and some are elementary school students. The condition of the children were not always healthy. One of the kids there, cannot walk and the other one is blind. It has brought me to consideration that many people aren't as fortunate as us and it is nice to have done something for them.
When we get there, the first thing we did was to data the children. We measure the height and weight of each of the children and we took some pictures. We also brought some goodies and snacks to give to them. Unfortunately we couldn't be there for a long time, so after we handed out our souvenirs, we headed home. It was a great experience for me that i could share and gave back to the children in need. I am looking forward to doing more community service work. :)
