It has been a year since I received my academic scholarship. This is something that me and my family are very proud of. I thanked God and the school for giving me a chance to be a scholar. Because it is my first high school year, I found this to be a challenge for me, but I took this as an opportunity for me to learn more, achieve higher standards in my studies. During this year I have tried my hardest in maintaining the standards set by the school, also I have participated in school events, such as ME Care program, ICAS competitions, Surabaya Sejahtera program, and Broken Wings ticket sales, all through which I have learned a lot. Not only do I need to care about myself, but rather serving others in my community, paying attention to the people around me. All of these have helped me both in my studies and in my character. The community work that I’ve done in Surabaya Sejahtera program, for example, has helped me to raise awareness for the society, and this program is something I have never thought of doing, and which I am proud to have done. The ICAS competition that I had, taught me that I can push myself to a higher standards and urge myself to learn, which is essential for my studies in IB as a life long learner.
This year I have proven to myself that I can achieve better, by which I have tried my hardest in the academic field, to achieve better scores than the previous year, maintain my attitude and character inside school. I am very eager to learn new stuffs, and this year has been a challenge for me, but I really hope that you will extend my scholarship through which I can help my parents, also to help me grow better and help me to be a life long learner. Should you extend my scholarship, I will promise to always try to achieve the best in everything that I do, target for higher scores and keep up to the standards. I will also maintain my behavior in respecting the authorities, teachers, and fellow peers of mine. I am always interested in school programs and will also participate in more school programs to help improve the school and to make the school proud. This year I have gained a lot of valuable experience and I really hope that you can see the growth and will give me another chance.
