As a part of the 2 year event “Future Awaits Festival”, the school invited several universities and institutions, both local and international. Aside from having the opportunity to know more about the universities during this event, the school also invited a well-known academic figure, Professor Yohanes Surya and his team. He gave out a lecture about the brain and how every person has the potential to be a great, because each of us has been given the same brain. He encouraged us as students to continue training ourselves. The school also invited other schools to listen to the seminar. After the seminar was over, we had a speech competition themed “IndonesiaISME” which can be read as Indonesia is me or Indonesiaisme.
Me, Samantha, and Vinsen from grade 11 IB were chosen to be Cita Hati’s representative for this competition. We were given notice just a few days before the deadline and we had to make a poster as well as an essay about this topic. However, we didn’t get to present our essay because of lack of preparation. This event was quite a huge one, because we supposedly had to present our speech in front of Prof. Yohanes Surya. This opportunity is a unique one, and if I was given this opportunity again, I would do my best to make the school proud :)
